When looking for an elementary school in our area, we wanted a school with good academics and plenty of resources for kids to succeed, caring staff, culture and proximity.  Coastline Christian Schools filled all those needs for us.

CCS is a caring community and Mr. Yue and the staff set a great example. When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, Mr. Yue, Pastor Steve, Mr. Leung all made visits to my house to offer support and to provide me with any assistance with our two girls.  Teachers such as Ms. Lucia Leung and Ms. Wendy Law helped with various types of care for my family, whether it was a ride to swimming meets on Saturdays or care for the kids after school Friday (345PM) and before Youth Bible Church (7:30PM).  I was already blown away by their compassion, care and support.

Another example of a caring teacher is Ms Tsui.  Ms. Tsui was and remains to this day, my daughter’s hero for stepping in and helping her resolve a conflict. Prior to her involvement, she didn’t want to go to school, but after Ms. Tsui stepped in, she was very happy. I could go on and on with more stories, but I don’t ever worry about the care the staff gives to the kids.

If you’re looking for a school with plenty of academics and enrichment opportunities (Science Bowl, Math Olympics, Odyssey of the Mind, music, sports, etc) and caring staff, CCS is the school for you.

We learned about CCS from my aunt in a family gathering a few years ago.  She praised CCS for its academic excellence, friendly and approachable staff and diverse curriculum.  We attended CCS open house and felt that this school is a good fit for our triplets.  Our kids has attended Amelia Earhart Elementary in Alameda from first to fourth grade.  Earhart is highly rated, but the class room sizes are too big.  CCS provides smaller classes, a more diverse curriculum such as learning Chinese and its culture, and exposure to more academic challenges, contests and competitions in a nurturing environment that expects good conduct and values from the students.

Transition from Earhart to CCS has been seamless.  Both the CCS staff and classmates are friendly, helpful, and approachable.  They quickly have gotten used to their daily routines and have done well academically.  Outside of the classroom, they enjoy playing volleyball with their friends, taking on challenges in the spelling bee, Odyssey of the Mind, and Mandarin Speech contests, and of course, participating in the educational and fun-filled field trips.  Over the past two years, we have noticed that they became more respectful, positive and independent.  We are very glad that we are a part of CCS.

We had known about CCS through family friends whose children attended, and had heard lots of good things over the years. When our daughter Quinn was in preschool, CCS was at the top of our list of schools to check out. We attended an open house, and immediately knew that CCS would be the right choice for our family. Wandering along the halls, we were impressed by the quality of the students’ work and felt at ease after receiving warm greetings from administrators and teachers. Upon hearing about the well-rounded curriculum and variety of activities offered, we knew that CCS would provide tremendous learning opportunities for our child, in a supportive and attentive environment.

Our daughter Quinn is now in second grade. Our family has experienced many special moments that speak to the high caliber education, nurturing, and resources provided by CCS to foster the academic and personal growth of their students:

· Quinn was so excited when she found out her class gets to go to the library AND the computer lab every week, and on the same day no less!
· When we asked her who she plays with at recess, she said, “Everyone!”
· Quinn always has a book in her backpack, and loves to read. Family storytime—where we take turns reading aloud—is a nightly ritual that she insists upon.
· She surprises us with her awareness of current events, history, science, and Chinese culture. From facts about weather phenomena to animals to holiday traditions, she always has something to share.
· When we play pretend at home, Quinn’s stuffed animals have conversations and burst into song—in Mandarin.

We are filled with gratitude to the administrators, teachers, and staff who helped create this joy for our family. We look forward to our continued journey with CCS!
